Acceptance of the Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using RailWatch Alabama, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by the RailWatch Alabama Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

If you use RailWatch Alabama on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Independent Service Disclaimer

RailWatch Alabama is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the City of Alabaster, Alabama or by Alabaster Connect.

References to public alerts, public agency information, railroad crossings, or public data sources are provided for informational purposes and do not mean that any public entity has reviewed, approved, partnered with, or endorsed RailWatch Alabama.

Eligibility and Accounts

You may browse portions of RailWatch Alabama in read-only mode without creating a registered account, but some features such as reporting, favoriting, voting, and account-linked notifications require a registered account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information reasonably up to date.

Community Reports and User Content

RailWatch Alabama allows users to submit crossing-status reports, reliability votes, and account preferences. You are responsible for the content you submit.

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but you grant RailWatch Alabama a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and use that content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and provide the service.

You must not submit false, misleading, abusive, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or spam content.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse RailWatch Alabama, including by attempting to bypass anti-spam protections, interfere with service operations, scrape the service without permission, gain unauthorized access, impersonate another person or entity, or submit intentionally inaccurate crossing reports.

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access to protect the service, other users, or legal compliance.

Alerts, Public Data, and Accuracy

RailWatch Alabama may display information derived from community reports and from third-party or public sources such as public alert feeds or text alerts. Those sources may be delayed, incomplete, changed, or unavailable.

Crossing information in RailWatch Alabama is provided for general informational purposes only. It should not be treated as a guarantee of real-time safety conditions, traffic conditions, or railroad operations.

You remain responsible for using your own judgment, following traffic laws, obeying railroad warning devices, and making safe decisions in the real world.

Third-Party Services

RailWatch Alabama uses third-party services and infrastructure, including services such as Firebase, Expo, Apple, Google, and Twilio. Those services may have their own terms, policies, and operational limitations.

We are not responsible for outages, delays, or failures caused by third-party providers or public-source systems.

Account Deletion and Service Changes

You may request deletion of your RailWatch Alabama account using the in-app Delete account feature or the public account deletion instructions page.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of RailWatch Alabama at any time, with or without notice, to improve the service, address legal or safety issues, or respond to operational needs.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

RailWatch Alabama is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RailWatch Alabama and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, goodwill, or use arising from or related to your use of the service.

If the law does not allow all of these limitations, liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Changes to These Terms and Contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, the updated version will be posted in the app and at the Terms of Service URL, and the new effective date will be shown.
